My Favorite KitchenAid Mixer Recipes

Hi friends! I don’t know about you all, but when I first unboxed my KitchenAid standing mixer, I was very intimidated! It was my first “big girl” small appliance and I had no idea where to begin. Over the last couple of years, I’ve come to depend on my standing mixer and thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite uses with you all!

SHREDDED CHICKEN (Paddle Attachment)

Now, I know this isn’t a “recipe”, but I would be remiss to not talk about my FAVORITE perk of having a Kitchen Aid Mixer – the ability to shred chicken in less than 30 seconds. Seriously. This is not a joke. All you have to do is place your warm kitchen in your mixer (with the paddle attachment) and turn it on low speed. You will then watch the chicken magically shred before your eyes.
I do this at least once per week! The best thing is… You can turn the mixer off when your chicken gets shredded to your desired size. For example, when I make things like Buffalo Chicken Dip (check out our favorite recipe here – except you don’t need the crockpot part) or my Mom’s Chicken Pot Pie (linked here), I like the chicken to be in pretty small pieces. However, if I’m using the chicken for tacos (EASY Crockpot recipe here) or just to eat with rice, I typically leave the pieces a bit larger. Regardless, this tip is a game changer!

Homemade Whipped Cream (Whisk Attachment)

You can really never get enough whipped cream. I will say… I used to be a huge Cool Whip fan – it’s so easy to just buy the container and go to town with a spoon. However! There is something special about the creaminess of whipped cream that Cool Whip misses out on. Turns out… Making your own is a LOT easier than I thought it would be. All you really need is heavy whipping cream and sugar (recipe linked here – you can also add vanilla if you’re a vanilla lover like me). It’s so easy to just throw the ingredients in your mixer, add the whisk attachment, and watch yummy whipped cream form before your eyes in minutes.
Now, there are ENDLESS ways to use your whipped cream (you can even store it in your fridge for a couple of days). However, I typically use mine on fruit. You can slice up some strawberries and put a dollop on for a “healthier” dessert or even create my favorite “Banana Pudding Look-Alike” with Nilla Wafers and sliced bananas.
Whipped cream is also great for waffles/ pancakes/ french toast if you are looking for a way to “fancy up” your breakfast or can be used as a great “icing” for any cake you’re making. The possibilities are truly endless! And… I definitely won’t judge if you just want to eat it with a spoon too.

Pizza Dough (Hook Attachment)

Something you should know… My husband LOVES pizza. He has even coined his famous “Dyl’s Deep Dish” among our friends – it’s that good! Here is a recipe that is similar to “Dyl’s Deep Dish” but I’ll have to really feature him on our Instagram (@yumsandmums) soon talking about the real deal! We’ve been on a journey since we’ve been married to create the best homemade pizza and we found out very quickly that homemade dough makes a huge difference against store bought pizza crust. Our KitchenAid Mixer has been our trusty assistant to create even consistency and well-kneaded dough! Here is a thin crust pizza we made with basil from my garden (Katie is going to be so proud! – recipe here).
